        "content": "<p>Construction noise<\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much, Mr. Sam Suhaedi, for your good advice<br>\n(The Jakarta Post, Oct. 23, 1995) on the problem of noise<br>\npollution, which I explained in my letter published in The<br>\nJakarta Post on Oct. 18, 1995.<\/p>\n<p>As suggested by Pak Sam, I talked to the RT (neighborhood<br>\ncommunity) Chief and the Lurah (Village Chief) too, and on their<br>\nrecommendation I presented an official letter of complaint to the<br>\nRT, which was signed by 20 people who share with me the problem<br>\nof noise disturbance.<\/p>\n<p>Conditions have indeed improved, although the occasional truck<br>\nstill enters the construction site in the middle of the night to<br>\nunload supplies. The Lurah is referring back to the RT, who in<br>\nturn is blaming Hansip (the civil defense organization). But we<br>\ncan live with the present condition for a while.<\/p>\n<p>We have also requested the Lurah and his staff to ask the<br>\ncontractor to stop working on Sundays or at least to run without<br>\nthe machinery.
