Motorists coming from the south and heading to Kota mostly
\npass the Harmoni area where Jl. Majapahit, Jl. Veteran and Jl.
\nSuryopranoto converge into Jl. Gajah Mada.<\/p>\n
At those crossroads there are at least five traffic lights.
\nThe traffic lights for Jl. Majapahit are located in nearly the
\nsame direction as those for the traffic coming from Jl. Veteran.<\/p>\n
The vehicles coming from Jl. Veteran get their turn before
\nthose on Jl. Majapahit. The nearly same direction of the two sets
\nof traffic lights confuses motorists coming from Jl. Majapahit.
\nThis is aggravated by the location of the traffic lights which
\ncome close to Jl. Suryopranoto. The confusion may trigger a
\ncollision between vehicles from Jl. Veteran and Jl. Majapahit.<\/p>\n
At another spot at the crossroads at Harmoni, the U-turn
\ntraffic sign from Jl. Hayam Wuruk to Jl. Gadjah Mada is a
\nhandmade sign only using a marking pen. It is not visible from a
\ndistance. Many motorists are trapped at this spot. They realize
\ntoo late that they should not have taken this lane for the U-turn
\nif they had wanted to traverse the crossroads. Those who can
\ncheck themselves will make the U-turn to return to the same spot.
\nBut those who continue their way become easy prey for traffic
\npolice. The ticketing of such \"offenders\" is a daily scene in the
\nHarmoni area.<\/p>\n
Motorists passing the Harmoni area should beware. Traffic
\nwardens, on the other hand, should not take advantage of the
\nconfusing state of the traffic signs. Please give road users
\nclear traffic signs and lights.<\/p>\n
