Concerned by councillors<\/p>\n

Compared to the news of the presidential runoff on Sept. 20,
\nthe recent news of the swearing-in of both provincial and
\nregional councillors might not seem that interesting.<\/p>\n
Yet, we have to pay serious attention to these new
\ncouncillors. We should be concerned because some of them have
\ncommitted crimes. There is one councillor who was reported to the
\npolice for document forgery, and others are involved in
\ncorruption.<\/p>\n
This raises questions like how can we build a democracy and
\nhow can we bring about a change for the better if those who hold
\npower are involved in criminal activities? We do not mean to pass
\njudgment before these cases are heard by the courts. But I think
\ncouncillors should be good, clean people with a great deal of
\nintegrity. They should also set an example for others. What will
\nhappen to this country if we are led by criminals?<\/p>\n
So, for our future, we must remind the councillors not to
\nforget their duties to the people. They are not serving to amass
\nwealth, but to help the people.<\/p>\n
