        "content": "<p>A primary suspect in a major case involving the sabotage of computer\ninformation systems has been extradited from Vietnam to China, following\na joint cross-border law enforcement operation, China\u2019s Ministry of\nPublic Security announced on Monday (20\/7). The suspect, identified by\nthe surname Pan, is accused of leading criminal activities that used\nphishing websites to trick users into downloading malware-laced\nsoftware, enabling the perpetrators to take over victims\u2019 computers,\nsteal personal information, and gain illegal profits. The case was\nuncovered by police in eastern China\u2019s Shandong Province in July 2025.\nAuthorities subsequently dismantled several criminal groups linked to\nthe operation through a series of coordinated crackdowns, while Pan fled\nabroad in August 2025. Vietnamese police arrested Pan on 4 June this\nyear with support from Chinese police and the Chinese Embassy in\nVietnam, whilst Chinese police also apprehended 11 other suspects in\nGuangdong and Guangxi, according to the ministry. Pan was subsequently\nextradited to China on 6 June by a Chinese police task force.
