        "content": "<p>Computer expo to begin<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Computer Traders Association will<br>\nhold its fourth exhibition, IndoComtech &apos;95, at the Jakarta<br>\nConvention Center from Sept. 6 to Sept. 10, an executive said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This exhibition is intended to show that our country not only<br>\nreceives technology from other countries, but also develops its<br>\nown,&quot; said Sonny Franslay, the association&apos;s chairman.<\/p>\n<p>Sonny explained that the domestic computer market is dominated<br>\nby imported products.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Imported products dominated about 45 percent of the market<br>\nlast year,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the local content in locally made computers in<br>\nour country is still less than 50 percent, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sony said that last year, the total sales of computer hardware<br>\nreached US$800 million, which is expected to increase by about 12<br>\nto 20 percent this year.<\/p>\n<p>He said the exhibition will be accompanied by a seminar on<br>\ntechnological innovations in computer hardware and software,<br>\nincluding Windows 95, the new 32-bit operating system launched by<br>\nMicrosoft Corp. last week.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that 76 companies will take part in the<br>\nexhibition, which is expected to attract around 200,000<br>\nvisitors.(31)<\/p>",
