        "content": "<p>Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) is continuously\nstrengthening various sectors to remain competitive among the best\nuniversities in Indonesia and internationally. UMY faces competition not\nonly from other private universities (PTS) but also from top state\nuniversities (PTN).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the current condition, UMY is in very strong competition with\nboth PTS and PTN. We must struggle,\u201d explained the Vice Rector for\nResources at Ulam, Prof.\u00a0Dr Dyah Mutiarin, during her remarks at the\nMedia Gathering &amp; Media Awards 2026 event at Ledok Sambi Ecopark on\nSaturday (6\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Several sectors are being expanded and strengthened to establish UMY\nas a leading university. One of these measures, according to Dyah,\ninvolves adding facilities for students, lecturers, and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Planned facilities include a daycare centre and a swimming pool. The\ndaycare will be located within the female University Residence (Unires)\narea, which is already equipped with the Firdaus 2 clinic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UMY daycare is intended to facilitate undergraduate, Master\u2019s,\nand Doctoral students who may have infants, as well as lecturers and\nstaff members who have families,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the near future, we will also build a sports facility,\nspecifically a swimming pool. The pool will be located near the\ndormitory, which will already feature a gym,\u201d Dyah added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to expanding campus facilities, Dyah continued that UMY\nis also strengthening its publication and branding sectors. This is\nbeing achieved by building robust networks with the mass media.<\/p>\n<p>This step is part of UMY\u2019s effort to strengthen the \u2018pentahelix\u2019\nsector. This endeavour is expected to reinforce UMY\u2019s vision and\nmission, as reflected in its tagline, \u2018Lead the Changes, Light the\nWorld\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe require very strong branding at this time to assist with student\nrecruitment and promotion. We hope that the appreciation between both\nparties can be mutually beneficial and positive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe media is a strategic partner for us, especially as we highly\nvalue the Pentahelix model. The Pentahelix is about collaboration, and\none of the key components is the media. This is extremely important,\u201d\nDyah concluded.<\/p>",
