Competence and honesty vital<\/p>\n

As Indonesians will directly elect their president and vice
\npresident on July 5 next, the candidates must be backed by
\npolitical parties in accordance with the stipulation laid down by
\nthe General Elections Commission.<\/p>\n
I believe that Indonesians are now politically mature enough
\nto be allowed to follow their consciences in exercising their
\nright to elect their president and vice president directly.<\/p>\n
The candidates must be capable and willing of carrying out
\ntheir duties. Gender should not matter as long as a candidate
\ngets enough support from political parties (a minimum of 3
\npercent). Then they must be honest and capable of working hard in
\nthe interests of the nation. They must be able to lead this
\nnation to a better future.<\/p>\n
So, every Indonesian must support whichever presidential and
\nvice presidential team that is elected democratically and gains a
\nmandate from the people.<\/p>\n
Personally I will vote for candidates who are honest and
\ncapable, and have broad perspectives. They must realize that
\npluralism prevails in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
