Company uses IBRA money to pay bonuses<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: The management of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) used
\nemergency funds of Rp 78 billion (US$9.18 million) from the
\nIndonesian Restructuring Bank Agency (IBRA) to disburse Rp 26
\nbillion to its 9,600 employees to pay their salaries for
\nNovember, along with their Idul Fitri bonuses.<\/p>\n
The general director of PT DI, Muhammad Nuril Fuad, said on
\nFriday that PT DI was only able to pay 10 percent of the total
\nsalaries for laid-off employees, and 25 percent for active
\nemployees.<\/p>\n
The payments were made on Nov. 14, which means the management
\nwill have to pay the remaining 90 percent for the laid-off
\nemployees, and 75 percent for active ones.<\/p>\n
Fuad said the employees' salaries for October had not been
\npaid due to a lack of funds at PT DI.<\/p>\n
Fuad said PT DI received the money from IBRA in two stages:
\nthe first was for Idul Fitri bonuses and the employees' salaries,
\nthe second was for severance pay for laid-off employees, which is
\nstill unavailable as PT DI must wait for the results of a meeting
\nbetween Minister of Manpower Jacob Nuwa Wea and PT DI's labor
\nunion.<\/p>\n
Fuad also said the number of employees who had been selected
\nto return to work numbered 3,000.<\/p>",
