        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Labour Minister Yassierli has reminded\ncompanies to pay the Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR), or Eid allowance, in\naccordance with legal requirements. Companies that fail to meet this\nobligation will face sanctions. The penalties consist of payment of the\nunpaid THR plus a 5 per cent fine to workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey must pay plus a five per cent fine,\u201d Yassierli said when met\nafter overseeing a free exodus support initiative at the Labour\nMinistry\u2019s offices in Jakarta on Tuesday (17\/3\/2025).<\/p>\n<p>Complaints are being followed up through inspections conducted by a\nsupervisory team. Companies found to be in breach remain required to pay\nthe THR in accordance with regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter we follow up, they must pay accordingly,\u201d Yassierli\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Labour opened THR consultation service desks from\nfourteen days before Eid. Complaint desks for breach violations opened\nfrom seven days before Eid. Data from three days before Eid recorded\n1,121 companies having been reported. The breakdown included 975 cases\nof unpaid THR, 378 cases of THR payments not in accordance with\nregulations, and 302 cases related to late THR payments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese desks are also located in the regions, and we continue to\nmonitor this. Those cases we can follow up on, we do so directly,\u201d\nYassierli said.<\/p>\n<p>Payment must also be made in full. Instalment schemes are not\npermitted.<\/p>\n<p>These requirements are set out in a Circular Regulation concerning\nthe implementation of THR payments for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the private sector, it is mandatory to pay in full, instalments\nare not allowed, and payment must be made no later than seven days\nbefore Eid,\u201d said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga\nHartarto during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (3\/3\/2026).<\/p>",
