Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has issued a serious warning to companies\nthat rely too heavily on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to run their\noperations. According to him, a company faces the potential for collapse\nif it shares too much sensitive information with AI models.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that business operators should be more vigilant\nregarding the data and instructions (prompts) they share with AI\nsystems. \u201cIn my opinion, any company that does not have full control\nover its data will not last long. Because, essentially, you have\noutsourced your company\u2019s thinking process,\u201d Nadella stated, as reported\nby Futurism.<\/p>\n
He recommended that companies should store all data related to how\ntheir employees use AI tools. By doing so, companies can eventually\ntrain or refine their own open-weight AI models. Furthermore, Nadella\nurged companies to begin moving away from closed-source agentic AI\ntools. Instead, he suggested using specialised AI platforms that can\nintegrate various types of AI models, such as more affordable,\nopen-source platforms.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy separating the framework from the model, and separating the\ncontext and memory from that model, you can use various AI models\naccording to their respective strengths,\u201d he explained. \u201cAt the same\ntime, any model can be replaced or removed, so that you maintain control\nover the direction and future of your own business,\u201d Nadella added.<\/p>\n
Although Microsoft is at the forefront of the AI development race\nalongside many other tech giants, Nadella has been proactive in voicing\nconcerns regarding the technology\u2019s potential negative impacts.\nPreviously, he warned that AI users might unconsciously \u201cpay twice\u201d for\nthe use of this technology\u2014not only with money to purchase tokens but\nalso with their valuable data.<\/p>\n
