        "content": "<p>A woman became a victim of sexual harassment on a commuter line\nservice on the Jakarta-Nambo route operated by PT Kereta Api Indonesia\n(KAI). KAI accompanied the victim in lodging a police report.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred on Saturday, 14 March 2026 at 21:01 Western\nIndonesian Time on the Jakarta Kota-Nambo commuter line service. The\nvictim boarded at Tebet station with Cibinong station as her destination\non commuter line train No.1530 (Jakarta Kota-Nambo), whilst the alleged\nperpetrator boarded at Tanjung Barat station.<\/p>\n<p>The incident went viral on social media. The victim experienced\nsexual harassment as the train approached Universitas Indonesia station.\nThe perpetrator reportedly concealed his actions behind a backpack. KAI\nstaff immediately apprehended the perpetrator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe alleged perpetrator committed sexual harassment inside the\ncommuter line. The perpetrator was subsequently removed at Universitas\nIndonesia station by on-board staff following reports and assistance\nfrom other passengers,\u201d stated KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager\nLeza Arlan in a statement on Sunday, 15 March.<\/p>\n<p>Staff coordinated with station personnel for follow-up action on the\nincident. The victim and alleged perpetrator were subsequently\nquestioned regarding the chronology of events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will register the alleged perpetrator into our CCTV analytics\ndatabase, which can detect the facial features of alleged perpetrators\ncommitting criminal acts either at stations or on commuter lines. We\nwill blacklist the perpetrator, who will no longer be able to use the\ncommuter line,\u201d Arlan stated.<\/p>\n<p>Leza expressed concern at the frequency of such incidents occurring\nin close succession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKAI Commuter will not tolerate any form of sexual violence occurring\neither inside the Commuter Line or at stations,\u201d Arlan emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>KAI Commuter will provide psychological support to the victim in\norder to strengthen her.
