        "content": "<p>Committee to discuss terrorism bills<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Steering Committee of the House of<br>\nRepresentatives (DPR) on Tuesday assigned a 50-strong special<br>\ncommittee to deal with the debate process relating to the stopgap<br>\nantiterror regulations and the passage of antiterrorism bills.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy House speaker Muhaimin Iskandar, who presided over the<br>\nmeeting, confirmed the deliberation mechanism would be determined<br>\nby the committee itself.<\/p>\n<p>\"The committee will decide whether to discuss the government<br>\nregulations or the bills first,\" Muhaimin said.<\/p>\n<p>As the special committee was just set up on Tuesday, the<br>\ndeliberation on the terrorism bills would begin during the next<br>\nsitting, starting Jan. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, leaders of all factions had pledged to finish the<br>\ndeliberation of the bills during the current session.<\/p>\n<p>Legislators will end this session on Friday and will have a<br>\none-month recess. -- JP<\/p>",
