        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Commission XIII DPR Chair Willy Aditya has urged police to\ncompletely expose those responsible for an acid attack on Andrie Yunus,\nan activist with the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of\nViolence (KontraS), including identifying the intellectual masterminds\nbehind the assault.<\/p>\n<p>Aditya referenced the acid attack against KPK investigator Novel\nBaswedan, which had drawn public attention but was criticised for\nfailing to adequately answer questions about the intellectual architects\nbehind the attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegarding Andrie from KontraS, police must fully investigate down to\nthe mastermind. There are lessons from the Novel case. Do not repeat its\nweaknesses in uncovering the brains behind the incident. The causal\nprobabilities must be tested,\u201d Aditya said when contacted on Saturday,\n14 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Aditya argued that such terrorist acts target not only individuals\nbut also instil fear in society and erode public dialogue space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not just about Andrie. It is about how citizens\u2019 civic space\nmust be protected from violent extremism,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The Nasdem party politician stated that the Prabowo Subianto\nadministration had from the outset placed human rights issues and\nterrorism prevention as part of its agenda within the Asta Cita\nprogramme.<\/p>\n<p>According to Aditya, safeguarding civic space and public dialogue\nconstitutes an important aspect that must be protected by all\nstakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPak Prabowo was firm in the Asta Cita regarding terrorism\nprevention. This will be pursued through reorientation of law\nenforcement training and social-cultural campaigns,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that he would give serious attention to investigating the\nacid attack case and would encourage Commission XIII DPR\u2019s working\npartners to assist law enforcement efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndrie is an example of good citizenship. He actively voices\nconcerns that have public impact. For that reason, individuals like him\nmust be protected from the possibility of becoming objects of terror by\nany party. We must not allow waves of citizens who will resist terror\nagainst civic space,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the acid attack against Andrie Yunus was confirmed by\nKontraS Secretariat Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya. The case has also been\nconfirmed by the Central Jakarta Metro Police, which is conducting an\ninvestigation. According to Dimas, the attack was carried out by an\nunknown person and caused Andrie to suffer serious injuries to various\nparts of his body.<\/p>",
