        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives Commission XIII has\napproved the Draft Law on the Second Amendment to Law No.\u00a013 of 2006 on\nWitness and Victim Protection (RUU PSDK) to be brought to the plenary\nsession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo the factions and the government agree to take the RUU PSDK to the\nsecond level?\u201d said Chairman of Commission XIII of the House of\nRepresentatives Willy Aditya, who received affirmative responses from\nthe meeting participants in the parliamentary complex, Senayan, Jakarta,\non Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The approval was made after eight political party factions in\nCommission XIII of the House of Representatives expressed their views on\nthe bill. All factions stated their agreement to proceed with the RUU\nPSDK to the second-level discussions for decision-making in the plenary\nsession.<\/p>\n<p>The substance regulated includes the expansion of protection for\nsubjects in criminal proceedings, not only for witnesses and\/or victims,\nbut also for perpetrator witnesses, reporters, informants, and experts\nwho have previously also faced threats.<\/p>\n<p>The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is designated as a\nstate institution, strengthened by the establishment of regional\nrepresentatives, the implementation of which is adjusted to needs.<\/p>\n<p>LPSK, said Dewi, can also form special task forces.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the RUU PSDK regulates the permanent victim fund, namely\nfunds provided to finance compensation and victim rehabilitation. The\nmanagement of the permanent victim fund is carried out by the ministry\nresponsible for financial affairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe proceeds from the management of the permanent victim fund are\nutilised by the LPSK,\u201d said Dewi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd\/or other lawful sources that are non-binding in accordance with\nstatutory provisions.
