Jakarta – Indonesia’s national automotive industry is recognised as
having substantial potential in meeting commercial vehicle requirements
whilst delivering widespread economic impact.

This is evident from the increasingly diverse range of commercial
vehicles offered by automotive manufacturers, including innovations
spanning conventional engine technology through to electric
vehicles.

Ricky Christian, Marketing Director of Wuling Motors, stated that if
Indonesia’s automotive industry is capable of meeting commercial vehicle
demands, this would certainly generate positive multiplier effects.

“This is because there are already several domestic automotive
manufacturers operating in the commercial segment, possessing supply
chains and service networks supported by competent local labour,”
Christian said in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday.

In the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, the Formo Max has been
introduced as a pick-up designed to support business productivity. This
vehicle features a 1,500 cc front-mounted engine capable of generating
98 horsepower with 140 newton-metres of torque. This performance is
combined with a large cargo bed measuring 2,695 mm by 1,725 mm, which
can be opened from three sides to facilitate loading and unloading.

Beyond load capacity, the Formo Max also offers comfort comparable to
passenger vehicles. Features including air conditioning, electric power
steering (EPS), and power windows are fitted to support driver comfort
during daily distribution activities. On the safety front, the vehicle
is equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic
brakeforce distribution (EBD).

The Mitra EV possesses cargo capacity of up to 6.5 cubic metres with
expansive cargo space. This vehicle is claimed to travel up to 400
kilometres on a single charge according to CLTC standards.

To support practical mobility, a fast-charging feature allows the
battery to charge from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 30
minutes. This model is available in two variants: a blind van for
logistics requirements and a minibus for passenger transport.

The introduction of the Formo Max and Mitra EV is also supported by
local production facilities and an after-sales service network
distributed across various Indonesian regions, which is expected to
sustainably support the mobility requirements of business operators.
",
