        "content": "<p>Collusion practice at mayoralty investigated<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Central Jakarta's inspectorate office is<br>\ncurrently investigating a report on collusion, corruption,<br>\ncronyism and nepotism allegedly exercised by some officials in<br>\nthe mayoralty, an official said.<\/p>\n<p>Central Jakarta Mayor Andi Subur said on Tuesday the<br>\ninvestigation started last Friday after receiving a report from a<br>\ngroup of people calling themselves the Anti KKN (collusion,<br>\ncorruption and nepotism) Communication Forum in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"I gave the team two weeks to complete their investigations<br>\nand prove whether or not the officials have really been involved<br>\nin such practices,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>He told reporters that the forum believed many officials in<br>\nthe mayoralty, ranging from secretaries to subdistrict heads, had<br>\nacquired their positions through collusion, corruption, cronyism<br>\nand nepotism.<\/p>\n<p>Andi said the team was allowed to interrogate any officials,<br>\nincluding he himself, in a bid to get a clearer picture of the<br>\nmatter.<\/p>\n<p>\"But the team has not questioned any officials yet. I<br>\ninstructed the team to study the report thoroughly before going<br>\non with the next stage in the procedure,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Proper administrative sanctions would be imposed on officials<br>\nwho were found to be involved in such practices, Andi added.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the forum also suspect that during the last two<br>\nyears many of the mayoralty's projects have been awarded through<br>\nclosed bids to specific companies, namely PT Sultan Agung, PT<br>\nBalekambang and PT Karya Timur Jaya, which are allegedly owned by<br>\nthe mayoralty's secretary, Chaerunnas Yusuf.<\/p>\n<p>They alleged that the companies had won at least 21 projects<br>\nwith a total value of Rp 6.9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The forum demanded that the Central Jakarta mayor investigate<br>\nthe allegations and disclose the results openly to public.
