We are students of the Indonesian Speech Therapy College, that
\nis managed by the Yasti Foundation located at Jl. Hang Lekiu III
\nNo 17 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
On July 28, 1994 the College, which is under the supervision
\nof the Department of Health, was closed by the Head of Jakarta
\nOffice of the Department of Health on the grounds that the
\ninstitution does not have the legal operational permission, hence
\nit is illegal.<\/p>\n
The College director, BS, admitted that he never asked for
\nofficial permission, but settled the matter illegally i.e. by
\nextending graft.<\/p>\n
To attract students he said that the college was subsidized by
\nthe Health Department. As far as we are concerned, this is not
\nonly a deceit but an insult to the Department of Health. When the
\nstudents held a demonstration demanding the responsibility of the
\nDirector, he pledged that he would arrange to get an operational
\npermit. But this also proved to be another hoax. He again told
\nthe students that a new foundation would have to be established.
\nThe founders of this foundation would include such figures as
\nSoesilo Soedarman, Rudini and Edi Sudradjat.<\/p>\n
We students hope that the matter can be solved soon.<\/p>\n
