        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Religious Affairs held an isbat\nsession to determine 1 Zulhijah 1447 Hijri and Eid al-Adha 1447 H in a\nclosed setting at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central\nJakarta, Sunday (17\/5\/2026) evening.<\/p>\n<p>A number of participants from elements of the Ministry of Religious\nAffairs, Islamic community organisations, and the hilal observation team\nwere seen entering the room at 18:00 WIB to begin the isbat session.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe isbat session serves as a joint forum to combine the results of\nhisab (astronomical calculations) and rukyatulhilal (new moon sighting)\nin order to determine the beginning of Zulhijah 1447 H accurately and\nacceptably for all Muslims in Indonesia,\u201d said Director of Islamic\nAffairs and Sharia Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Arsad\nHidayat, Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the results of the hisab presented during the isbat session,\nall regions of Indonesia have met the MABIMS hilal visibility criteria,\nboth in terms of hilal height and elongation, Sunday (17\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn this Hijri day, the height throughout Indonesia ranges from 3.29\nto 6.95 and the elongation ranges from 8.91 to 10.60 degrees. Throughout\nthe territory of the Republic of Indonesia, the position of the hilal\nhas met the MABIMS criteria or hilal visibility,\u201d said the Ministry of\nReligious Affairs\u2019 Hisab Rukyat Team, Cecep Nurwendaya, Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The hilal is considered to meet the MABIMS criteria if the hilal\nheight is at least 3 degrees and the elongation reaches 6.4 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Cecep emphasised that all regions of Indonesia have met the hilal\nvisibility requirements based on mapping conducted by the hisab\nteam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll regions of Indonesia appear green in colour,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the elongation in Indonesian territory also far exceeds\nthe minimum limit set.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, all regions of Indonesia have met the criteria for\nthe beginning of the Kamariah month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll regions of Indonesia, with white and green colours, already meet\nthe MABIMS criteria for the beginning of the Kamariah month,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>However, the determination of the beginning of Zulhijah and Eid\nal-Adha will be decided in the isbat session and announced afterwards in\na press conference.<\/p>\n<p>KOMPAS.com is committed to providing clear, trustworthy and balanced\nfacts.
