Clinic for incontinence<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital on Jl.
\nDiponegoro in Central Jakarta opened a clinic on Friday for
\npatients suffering urinary incontinence, or inkontinensia urine.<\/p>\n
The hospital director Hermansyur Kartowisastro said the
\nclinic, which will be fully operational from Monday, was a
\nnecessity for the estimated 10 million people who are suffering
\nfrom the condition.<\/p>\n
\"This condition doesn't kill anyone, but it has a large social
\nimpact. Patients can lose their self-esteem or avoid socializing
\nwith others because they are embarrassed of people knowing that
\nthey wet their pants and bed all the time,\" Hermansyur said,
\nwhile addressing the opening ceremony of the clinic.<\/p>\n
The clinic is the first of its kind in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
An urologist at the clinic, Rochani, said the condition could
\noriginate from damage to the nervous system and hip bones, high
\ndelivery frequency for a woman, obesity, serious illnesses and
\nbladder infections.<\/p>\n
\"That is why this clinic hires urologists, gynecologists,
\ngeriatricians, pediatricians and neurologists,\" Rochani said,
\nciting the clinic charged a maximum fee of Rp 200,000 (US$ 29)
\nper visit.<\/p>\n
\"But we will give a free consultation to the first 100
