An atmosphere of joy and gratitude enveloped Oenai Village, Kie\nDistrict, South Timor Tengah Selatan, East Nusa Tenggara, as the\nAl-Qur\u2019an Waqf Foundation (BWA) inaugurated its 65th Clean Water\nEndowment project on Thursday (11\/06\/2026). The arrival of this clean\nwater facility brings good news to a community that has faced limited\naccess to clean water for many years.<\/p>\n
The inauguration was held with great fanfare and warmth. The BWA\ndelegation was welcomed with local traditional ceremonies, traditional\ndance performances, hadrah shalawat, and various other customary\nwelcoming rituals. Residents from Oenai and Napi villages attended the\nevent alongside community leaders and local government\nrepresentatives.<\/p>\n
The endowment programme was constructed with 4,200 metres of HDPE\npiping installation, which directs water straight to residents\u2019 homes.\nThe benefits are felt by the people of Oenai Village and parts of Napi\nVillage, including one mosque and one community health centre\n(posyandu). In total, this clean water facility serves 127 households,\nor approximately 1,055 individuals.<\/p>\n
Present at the event were BWA\u2019s Director of Programme and\nFundraising, Ir. Heru Binawan, and BWA\u2019s Director of Networking and\nQur\u2019an Distribution, Ustadz Hazairin Hasan. In his speech, Heru\nexpressed his appreciation to the community for supporting the\nimplementation of this endowment programme in Oenai Village.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to thank the people of Oenai for allowing the Clean\nWater Endowment from BWA to be built in their village. We hope that\nresidents can maintain and care for this facility for as long as\npossible. As long as this endowment is preserved and utilised, God\nwilling, rewards will continue to flow to the donors who have\ncontributed,\u201d Heru stated in a written release.<\/p>\n
In addition to inaugurating the clean water facility, BWA distributed\ngift packages to residents containing soap and other hygiene supplies.\nThe activity serves as an important symbol of the importance of\nmaintaining environmental cleanliness and family health alongside\nincreased access to clean water.<\/p>\n
The event culminated in the symbolic opening of a water tap, met with\napplause and happy smiles from the residents.
