        "content": "<p>Clarification on privatization<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the news report published in The Jakarta Post on<br>\nOct. 5, 1994 and reports in other media quoting the statement by<br>\nMinister of Administrative Reforms TB Silalahi after giving a<br>\nspeech before the working conference of the department of<br>\nReligious Affairs on Oct. 4, 1994 in Jakarta, we wish to clarify<br>\nas follows:<\/p>\n<p>1. What was meant by the Minister is that the status of the<br>\nstate-owned television station (TVRI) is changed into State-owned<br>\nEnterprise (BUMN), so that the business can be managed more<br>\nprofessionally just like a private company. The Minister did not<br>\nmean privatization of the institution.<\/p>\n<p>2. In this context, a feasibility study is being done<br>\ninvolving Departments of Information, Finance, Office of<br>\nAdministrative Reforms and Cabinet Secretariat. The problems<br>\nresulting from the change are very complex because various<br>\naspects are involved i.e. law, funding and employees' status.<\/p>\n<p>3.
