Clarification on Falun Gong<\/p>\n
In order to rebut the negative news that has been circulating
\nthese past few days and which has completely misled people, as
\nFalun Gong practitioners, we would like to enlighten your readers
\nwith the information below.<\/p>\n
1. The Himpunan Falun Gong Indonesia is an association
\nlegally registered under the Ministry of Justice, North Jakarta,
\nNo.110\/Leg\/2000, dated Nov. 29, 2000. The organization is not
\nprofit-oriented, has nothing to do with religious or political
\nmatters, does not collect fees from its
\npractitioners\/participants, and serves the public on a
\nvoluntary basis and free of charge.<\/p>\n
2. Falungong, or Falun Dafa, is a practice to improve
\nhealth and moral quality, relieve stress, create inner
\npeace and develop wisdom and promote spiritual growth
\nwith its principles of "truthfulness, benevolence and
\nforbearance".<\/p>\n
3. Falungong is not a religion and does
\nnot have any ritualized activities. Falun Dafa does not
\nrepresent any political grouping, and does not get involved in
\npolitics.<\/p>\n
4. On March 2 and 3, 2002, Himpunan Falun Gong
\nIndonesia organized a conference and parade in Jakarta
\nbased on the permit from the National Police, no. Pol.
\nSI\/DIT-B\/122\/II\/BAINTELKAM. The participants were 627
\nFalungong practitioners from 11 countries: Australia,
\nTaiwan, America, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sweden,
\nMalaysia, Thailand, the People's Republic of China, Korea and
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
5. The parade on March 3, 2002 was canceled due to
\ninterference from the Chinese Embassy. Indonesia
\nis a country with democracy-based spiritual belief systems,
\nwhich is definitely not the same as the Communist
\nideology in mainland China, and therefore, we openly
