        "content": "<p>Clarification from environment office<\/p>\n<p>With respect to a news report titled Waste to be sent back to<br>\nthe Netherlands, specifically with regard to the import of the<br>\npaper waste amounting to 20 40-foot containers, as published in<br>\nThe Jakarta Post on May 17, the Office of the State Minister for<br>\nthe Environment would like to give the following clarification:<\/p>\n<p>* According to the bill of lading issued in Bremen, Germany,<br>\ndated Feb. 2, the said waste came from the United Kingdom<br>\n(Grosvenor Waste Management Limited, Century Wharf, Crayford<br>\nCreek, Crayford, Kent DA 1 4 Qd, United Kingdom), through<br>\nRotterdam.<\/p>\n<p>* Rotterdam was the \"port of loading\", not \"the country of<br>\norigin\" of the said waste.<\/p>\n<p>* As stated in the import documents for the consignment, imported<br>\nwaste must be returned to the waste's country of origin (not to<br>\nthe country where the loading is conducted) if it is not in<br>\nconformity with the prevailing import stipulations.<\/p>\n<p>General chronology:<\/p>\n<p>The waste from the United Kingdom (Grosvenor Waste Management<br>\nLtd.) was dispatched to Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In Germany, a German company undertook the packing and<br>\npackaging of the waste into containers.<\/p>\n<p>The containers containing the waste were later transported to<br>\nRotterdam Port aboard a \"river vessel\".<\/p>\n<p>The containers were loaded onto the CSCL Felixstowe vessel in<br>\nRotterdam Port.<\/p>\n<p>The CSCL Felixstowe departed for Jakarta and arrived at<br>\nTanjung Priok harbor.<\/p>\n<p>RASIO RIDHO SANI, Assistant Deputy in charge of Information<br>\nOffice of the State Minister for the Environment<\/p>\n<p>Note: Thank you for your clarification.<\/p>\n<p>-- Editor<\/p>",
