Civilian security personnel<\/p>\n
In the current increasingly heated situation, it is suspected
\nthat the Armed Forces (ABRI) created a situation in society where
\none side fights against the other. Correct?<\/p>\n
Why did ABRI deploy (armed) civilian security personnel to
\nsafeguard the Special Session of the People's Consultative
\nAssembly? Then, those civilian guards proudly go about the city
\nas if they were showing force: \"We are the reliable security
\nguards\".<\/p>\n
Why didn't ABRI make itself the sole force totally responsible
\nfor the safety of the Assembly's session? Moreover, these
\ncivilian guards, calling themselves representatives of Banten
\nresidents and Islam, had a physical confrontation at the
\nProclamation Monument, where they held prayers for the late KH
\nHasan Basri. Why there, and not in the late KH Hasan Basri's
\nhome, or at the Istiqlal Grand Mosque? Please don't overact!<\/p>\n
That some of the civilian guards were armed with pointed
\nbamboo poles and arrows and samurai swords is ridiculous, as if
\nthey were going to fight in the forest.<\/p>\n
Why did they want a confrontation with the other members of
\nsociety? We may have different views but we should respect each
\nother's opinions and seek a compromise, not a confrontation.<\/p>\n
Before the situation goes from bad to worse, it would be wise
\nfor the authorities to disengage the civilian guards from their
\nsecurity task. The Jakarta regional police said that civilian
\nsecurity personnel were not under their command. So, it is
\nadvisable for the government to conduct a thorough investigation
\non who has initiated the deployment of the civilian security
\npersonnel.<\/p>\n
Let us maintain our unity and integrity for the sake of the
\nour nation and country.<\/p>\n
