Civil democracy not working, hurts people<\/p>\n
Why do we keep talking about the less than harmonious
\nrelations between the provincial administrators and provincial
\nlegislative councils (DPRD)? Because the people have become the
\ndirect victims.<\/p>\n
Just imagine. How can the leaders of provincial
\nadministrations and DPRDs focus their attention on serving the
\npeople when they are so often involved in petty squabbling, only
\ndefending their own narrow points of view or vested interests.<\/p>\n
They are neglecting the very people who put them in their
\npositions as provincial leaders.<\/p>\n
Everything that has been happening is inconsistent with a
\nhealthy democracy, and now far beyond control or correction.
\nShould this condition continue, it would not only lead to poorer
\nrelations between provincial administrators and legislators, but
\nwill adversely affect the people, the nation and the state.
\nEveryone will suffer because no development programs are being
\ncarried out.<\/p>\n
Eventually they, the provincial administrators and
\nlegislators, politicians and political parties, would suffer
\nbecause the people's confidence in the political elite and the
\nprocess of democracy will deteriorate.<\/p>\n
We hope all this does not come to pass, even though it is
\ncertainly headed that way. As for the process of democracy, we
\nhope all decisions will be made based on good faith dialog.
\nDemocracy should lead to improvements in society, not the other
