A civil society coalition carried out an action to create a mural in\ncommemoration of the 30th day since the planned attempted murder of\nhuman rights activist Andrie Yunus. The mural, depicting a silhouette of\nAndrie\u2019s face accompanied by the phrase \u201cWounds Do Not Silence the\nVoice,\u201d is displayed on Jalan Salemba I-Talang, the scene of the crime\n(TKP) for the acid attack case.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are placing the mural as a reminder that this location is the\nsite of a human rights violation that befell our colleague, Andrie\nYunus,\u201d said coalition representative Hema at the site on Sunday, 12\nApril 2026.<\/p>\n
In addition to creating the mural, the coalition held other\nactivities, such as reconstructing the points where the perpetrators\nstalked Andrie, scattering flowers, and reciting prayers together for\nthe recovery of the Deputy Coordinator of Kontras.<\/p>\n
The reconstruction route taken by the coalition began at the office\nof the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI). Before the incident,\nAndrie was recording a podcast at the office led by Muhammad Isnur.<\/p>\n
The journey continued through the Megaria bus stop and the Cikini\npetrol station. In surveillance camera footage gathered by the\ncoalition, the acid pourer stalked Andrie to the petrol station area\nafter the activist left the YLBHI office.<\/p>\n
The reconstruction was then carried out at Diponegoro Park. At this\nlocation, surveillance footage collected by the coalition captured\nindications of another perpetrator coordinating with the acid pourer\nexecutor. The activities concluded on Jalan Salemba I-Talang in Central\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, the coalition urged President Prabowo Subianto\nto immediately form an independent Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF).<\/p>\n
Member of the Advocacy Team for Democracy, Fatia Maulidiyanti, said\nthe coalition also urged the Constitutional Court to promptly decide on\nthe judicial review lawsuit against the TNI Law regarding general\ncourts. \u201cAnd urged Komnas HAM to immediately conduct a pro-justicia\ninvestigation to strengthen law enforcement in the Andrie case,\u201d said\nthe former Kontras Coordinator.<\/p>\n
Andrie Yunus was doused with corrosive chemical liquid on 12 March\nwhile passing through Jalan Salemba I-Talang, Central Jakarta. Medical\nrecords state that the Deputy Coordinator of Kontras suffered burns of\nmore than 20 percent due to this attack.<\/p>\n
Last week, Puspom TNI handed over the case file and evidence to the\nMilitary Prosecutor 07-II Jakarta. If the file is deemed complete, the\nAndrie case will begin to be tried at the Military Court 08-II\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
From statements by Puspom TNI, there are four perpetrators of the\nacid attack. They are NDP, SL, BHW, and ES, from the air and sea\nbranches. NDP holds the rank of captain, SL and BHW are first\nlieutenants, while ES is a second sergeant.<\/p>\n
On 3 April, Andrie Yunus wrote a letter of objection if his case is\ntried through the military court mechanism. He demanded that this case\nbe tried through the general court mechanism.<\/p>\n
According to him, the legal process through the military court has\nthe potential not to provide justice for the victim. Whoever the\nperpetrators are, whether civilians or military personnel, they must be\ntried through the general court.
