        "content": "<p>City police awards 'Zarina Team' members<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): City Police Chief Maj. Gen. Hamami Nata<br>\npresented yesterday honorary awards and cash to five police<br>\ndetectives for their remarkable work in bringing Ecstasy-case<br>\nescapee Zarina back from the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The five officers are Lt. Col. Gories Mere, who led the<br>\nmission, Lt. Col. Bakat Purwanto, Maj. Carlo Tewu, Capt. Tomy<br>\nWatulu and First Sgt. Vivi Cangkung, the only woman on the team.<\/p>\n<p>Besides receiving certificates, the officers were given cash.<\/p>\n<p>Mere, who is secretary of the Jakarta crime investigation<br>\ndirectorate, received Rp 1 million (US$432), the other three male<br>\ndetectives Rp 750,000 each and Sgt. Vivi Rp 400,000.<\/p>\n<p>\"It's not about the amount of money but what we need to show<br>\nhere is how much we appreciate the great work of our personnel in<br>\nfighting crime,\" Hamami said.<\/p>\n<p>\"The awards were to honor their efforts, which I think were a<br>\nremarkable success, in being able to arrest and bring Zarina back<br>\nhome for trial,\" Hamami said in his speech.<\/p>\n<p>The honors are also part of our efforts to realize our reward<br>\nand punishment system, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The awards were presented at a routine ceremony held every<br>\nMonday at the Jakarta Police Headquarters on Jl. Gatot Subroto,<br>\nSouth Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a U.S. embassy security attache congratulated the<br>\nJakarta detectives.<\/p>\n<p>\"The Indonesian police have proved their professionalism and<br>\nhard work in investigating this case across international<br>\nborders,\" he said after Zarina's arrival on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Zarina, who was re-arrested in Houston on Nov. 4 after hiding<br>\nfor three months since escaping from police on Aug. 8, is still<br>\nunder investigation and in police custody.<\/p>\n<p>\"We're still discussing with interrogators every detail about<br>\nthe investigation and questioning of this case,\" Head of the<br>\nJakarta CID, Col. Paimin Abuamr, said last night.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, \"we have made no significant progress in our<br>\nprobe,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Zarina's lawyer Amir Syamsuddin  refused to comment on the<br>\nprogress of Zarina's interrogation, now in its second day.<\/p>\n<p>\"I need to meet her relatives first to discuss Zarina's case,\"<br>\nAmir said.<\/p>\n<p>He said he would immediately assign a senior lawyer from his<br>\nlaw firm to assist Zarina during police questioning.
