        "content": "<p>City-owned hotel opens in October<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The grand opening of a new city-owned hotel,<br>\nHotel Cempaka Jakarta, will be held on Oct. 1, a few months after<br>\nits soft opening, an official said.<\/p>\n<p>Gito Bantas, the director of PT Wisata Niaga Jaya, a city-<br>\nowned tourism firm, said yesterday the four-star hotel, located<br>\non Jl. Lt. Gen. Suprapto in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, has<br>\n221 rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Since its soft opening a few months ago, the hotel's occupancy<br>\nrate has been about 40 percent, with rates ranging from US$110 to<br>\n$400, he said, after reporting to Governor Surjadi Soedirdja.<\/p>\n<p>Sixty percent of the 19-story hotel's guests are expected to<br>\ncomprise businesspeople, besides officials and tourists, Gito<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel, with a construction cost of Rp 47.5 billion<br>\n(US$20.3 million), was completed in 18 months and built without<br>\noutside cooperation, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Other lodgings run by Wisata Niaga are the Cempaka 1 and 2<br>\nnon-star hotels, the Cempaka Cottage in Plumpang, North Jakarta,<br>\nand Hotel Kuta Jaya in Bali.
