The South Jakarta city government is asking residents to report any\nuninhabitable houses so they can receive assistance under the Home\nRenovation Programme (Program Bedah Rumah) from the Ministry of Housing\nand Settlement Areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor our brothers and sisters whose houses are not fit for\nhabitation, please inform us immediately, whether through the RT, RW, or\ndirectly to the lurah or camat, or directly to me,\u201d said Mayor Syafrin\nin a statement in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
Syafrin asked residents with uninhabitable homes to report promptly\nto their RT\/RW or lurah and camat so they can receive assistance under\nthe Home Renovation Programme from the Ministry of Housing and\nSettlement Areas (PKP).<\/p>\n
For those who have already received assistance under the Home\nRenovation Programme, he reminded residents to monitor its\nimplementation.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet us check together whether the work has been carried out properly\nor not. Although the Empowerment Centre already has technical experts\nand specialists supervising, because you will be the ones living in the\nhouse, you must also inspect it yourselves,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Director General of Urban Housing at the Ministry of\nHousing and Settlement Areas, Sri Haryati, said the Home Renovation\nProgramme targets the repair of 400,000 uninhabitable housing units\nacross Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the Jakarta area, 10,300 units have been allocated, and in South\nJakarta itself, 2,000 units have been allocated. However, if there are\nadditional proposals, please submit them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Haryati added that the requirement for residents to receive\nassistance under the Home Renovation Programme is simply to attach a\nstatement letter confirming occupancy of the house, signed by the\nhomeowner and acknowledged by the local lurah.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, it must be remembered not to violate the spatial plan. For\nexample, are houses on riverbanks allowed? No, because that is a river\nsetback area which also functions for flood management and so on.\nLikewise, on land belonging to other parties where it is not permitted,\nthat is not allowed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Haryati added that as long as the land belongs to the family or is\ninherited land, even if it does not yet have official documents, it will\nnot be a problem.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the damage criteria, there are three categories, and meeting\njust one category is enough to apply for a home renovation.
