City fights against scalpers<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Jakarta Military District Commander Maj. Gen.
\nWiranto has declared war on ticket scalpers operating at bus and
\nrailway stations ahead of the Idul Fitri festivities.<\/p>\n
The fight against scalpers is to give security to Jakartans
\nintending to travel by bus or train to their hometowns, Wiranto
\nsaid at a fast breaking gathering in Serpong, Tangerang, on
\nThursday evening.<\/p>\n
Wiranto said, \"We will sweep them away because their
\noperations usually cause people, mostly those of the low-income
\ngroup, to suffer losses,\" quoted spokesman of the military
\ndistrict command Didi Supandi.<\/p>\n
It is common among Jakartans to do a mass exodus to other
\ncities during the Idul Fitri holidays, to celebrate the end of
\ntheir one-month fasting with their relatives.<\/p>\n
Didi did not give details on the number of military personnel
