City detectives get new boss<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): City police chief Maj. Gen. Noegroho Djajoesman
\non Wednesday installed Col. Alex Bambang Riatmojo on Tuesday as
\nthe new head of the city police detective directorate, replacing
\nCol. Gories Mere.<\/p>\n
A 1977 graduate of the Police Academy, Bambang was previously
\ndeputy secretary at the National Central Bureau (NCB)-Interpol.<\/p>\n
Before serving at the country's Interpol office, Bambang, who
\nholds a Phd from the Kennedy Western University in Idaho in the
\nUnited States, was chief of the Bekasi police.<\/p>\n
Gories, who for years has run up an impressive record in
\nsolving difficult crime cases in the capital, will be soon
\ninstalled as Student Regiment Commander at the Police Academy in
\nSemarang, Central Java.<\/p>\n
Gories himself graduated from the academy in 1975.<\/p>\n
In his speech Noegroho thanked Gories for his success in
\nsolving several cases such as the kidnapping of businessman
\nSyamsul Nursalim, the home-made bomb explosion at Tanah Tinggi
\napartments, Central Jakarta, and drugs transactions which
\ninvolved foreign citizens.<\/p>\n
He urged the new detectives chief to maintain this success and
\nto develop innovations to solve crimes, especially those which
