City councillors take brain course<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Taking part in comparative studies overseas and
\nstudying under a postgraduate program here were not enough for
\ncity councillors, as some 60 of them took part in a short course
\nknown as \"Brainware Management Training\" on Thursday to improve
\ntheir \"brain power\".<\/p>\n
Council chairman Edy Waluyo told reporters the councillors
\nwere expected to improve their emotional intelligence and adopt
\nproductive and efficient habits.<\/p>\n
The training program's consultant Taufik Baharudin refused to
\nsay what was the cost of the training, which took place at 9:30
\na.m. to 4 p.m. at the council building.<\/p>\n
\"But I'm not a cheap consultant. People say that I'm an
\nexpensive one,\" Taufik, who is also a lecturer at the University
\nof Indonesia's school of economics, said.<\/p>\n
The city councillors had previously been criticized for
\nspending billions of rupiah in taking comparative studies courses
\noverseas and enrolling in local postgraduate education, financed
