        "content": "<p>Citibank aids famine victims<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Citibank Indonesia's employees have raised a<br>\ntotal of Rp 79.56 million to help famine victims in drought-hit<br>\nIrian Jaya province.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be converted into three months' worth of food<br>\nsupplies for 400 children in seven villages, the bank said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The funds were raised by Citibankers who care about the<br>\neffects of the famine in Irian Jaya and its impact on the health<br>\nof children there,\" said Ditta Amahorseya, Citibank Indonesia's<br>\nhead of corporate affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The famine resulted from the drought caused by the El Nino<br>\nweather phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>The food aid is being disbursed by World Vision Indonesia, a<br>\nnonprofit organization active in providing health and education-<br>\nrelated aid to Irian Jaya.
