CIREBON, West Java: Local police shot eight alleged criminals
\nwho are suspected to have committed numerous crimes in Sumber
\nvillage over the weekend in the process of arresting them.<\/p>\n
None of the injuries incurred were deemed to be life-
\nthreatening.<\/p>\n
The eight suspects, identified only as Ae, Bd, KH, GB, UJ, DI,
\nOE and PO, were shot while apparently attempting to resist
\narrest.<\/p>\n
Adj. Sr. Comr. Ricardo Hutauruk, chief of the Sumber Police
\nPrecinct, said that the eight had been the police's number one
\ntarget since they were suspected of frequently being involved in
\nmany alleged robberies in the subdistrict.<\/p>\n
\"They will be brought to court (after medical treatment) and
\npunished in line with the crimes they have committed,\" he said
\nhere on Monday<\/p>\n
He added that the police would remain steadfast against
\ncriminals in order to maintain the security and public order on
