The incident is believed to have been triggered\nby a gas leak that caused an explosion at the site.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Head of the Bekasi City Disaster Management and Emergency\nResponse Agency, Heryanto, stated that the initial suspicion of the SPBE\nfire originated from a gas leak based on information from nearby\nresidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still awaiting the results of the investigation by the\nauthorities. However, initial information from residents mentions the\npresence of a gas odour before the incident,\u201d he said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the gas leak, the source of the fire is suspected to\nhave come from an electrical short circuit in the Pertamina SPBE area,\nwhich then triggered the explosion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe preliminary suspicion is that an electrical short circuit became\nthe trigger for the gas explosion, but this is still based on initial\ninformation,\u201d Heryanto added.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the explosion, the SPBE facility suffered heavy\ndamage, nearly completely destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>The fire also caused at least 12 people to suffer burns, consisting\nof nearby residents and SPBE employees.
