The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named\nCilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman (AUL) and Cilacap Regency Regional\nSecretary Sadmoko Danardono (SAD) as suspects in an alleged extortion\ncase. Both were designated as suspects following 24-hour interrogations\nafter being caught in a KPK sting operation.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on sufficient evidence of alleged corruption involving\nextortion and other unlawful receipts within Cilacap Regency Government\nin Central Java, the KPK has elevated this matter to the investigation\nphase and named two suspects,\u201d said Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for\nEnforcement and Execution at the KPK, during a press conference at KPK\nheadquarters in South Jakarta on Saturday, 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirstly, AUL as Cilacap Regent for the 2025-2030 term; secondly, SAD\nas Regional Secretary of Cilacap Regency,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Asep stated that both Regent Syamsul and Regional Secretary Sadmoko\nhave been immediately detained. The initial detention period is 20\ndays.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe KPK has ordered the detention of the suspects for the first 20\ndays from 14 March until 2 April 2026. Detention will be held at the\nState Detention Centre (Rutan) at the KPK\u2019s Red and White Building,\u201d\nAsep explained.<\/p>\n
The suspects are charged with violating Article 12 letter e and\/or\nArticle 12B of Law No.\u00a031 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption\nOffences as amended by Law No.\u00a020 of 2001 concerning Eradication of\nCorruption Offences, in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law\nNo.\u00a01 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n
Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman was caught in the KPK sting\noperation. Regent Syamsul was apprehended together with Cilacap Regional\nSecretary Sadmoko Danardono.<\/p>\n
Prior to being taken to Jakarta, Regent Syamsul was secured at\nBanyumas Police Resort following his arrest in the sting operation,\nwhere he underwent initial questioning by the KPK team.<\/p>\n
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo stated that the case against Regent\nSyamsul and Regional Secretary Sadmoko concerns alleged extortion.<\/p>\n
