JAKARTA \u2014 The Cilacap regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman is alleged to\nhave extorted year-end allowance (THR) funds from regional work units\n(SKPD) since 2025.<\/p>\n
According to statements made during investigation, the THR extortion\nwas not limited to 2026 but had already occurred in 2025, though it had\ngone unmonitored and no reports had been filed previously.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has been repeated. If it is not caught red-handed, it will be\nrepeated again,\u201d investigators noted.<\/p>\n
Based on Syamsul\u2019s calculations, external THR payments required 515\nmillion rupiah. However, he targeted collecting 750 million rupiah in\nTHR funds. By the time of the arrests, 610 million rupiah in THR money\nhad been collected. The extent of extortion that occurred in 2025\nremains under investigation.<\/p>\n
Cash totalling 610 million rupiah was seized from Ferry Adhi Dharma,\nthe Assistant II to Cilacap Regent, one of the individuals tasked by\nSyamsul with collecting THR money from regional work units. The money\nhad been placed into goodie bags intended for distribution to regional\nleadership coordinating officials (Forkopimda).<\/p>\n
The anti-corruption commission (KPK) has named two suspects in the\ncase: Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and Cilacap Regional\nSecretary Sadmoko Danardono.
