JAKARTA — Nabilah O’Brien, owner of the Bibi Kelinci restaurant in
Kemang, South Jakarta, has been named a suspect on defamation charges by
Bareskrim of the Indonesian National Police (Polri). She was reported by
a married couple identified by the initials ZK and ERS. The report was
filed after Nabilah uploaded CCTV footage recording the couple’s rampage
at her restaurant to social media. Conversely, Nabilah also reported ZK
and ERS to the Mampang Police Station for allegedly leaving without
paying for meals they had ordered. ZK and ERS have since been named
suspects as well.

The incident began when ERS and ZK visited the Bibi Kelinci
restaurant to order 14 dishes for takeaway on Friday, 19 September 2025.
That evening the restaurant was busy and online orders kept coming in.
Because the wait was long, ERS and ZK became angry. Initially they
simply voiced verbal protests. However, the two later entered the
kitchen area restricted to staff only. There ZK allegedly struck one of
the staff and the restaurant’s chiller. They also abused and shouted at
staff. When the order was completed, they left abruptly.

“The restricted area means it is forbidden, right? And it also
triggered a disturbance. Based on CCTV footage, Z and E appear to
assault the right arm of our head of kitchen and the chiller while
threatening to raze this place,” explained Nabilah’s lawyer, Goldie
Natasya Swarovzki, at a press conference on Friday (6 March 2026). One
staff member briefly chased them outside the restaurant carrying an
electronic payment terminal (EDC) but was ignored by them. The staff
then reported the incident to Nabilah, who was out of town at the time.
When the CCTV recording was in her possession, Nabilah uploaded the
video to her Instagram account. Netizens subsequently identified them as
ZK and ERS. Nabilah then sent a cease-and-desist letter to them. Police
planned to summon them for questioning at the time. However ZK and ERS
pre-emptively issued a reply with a cease-and-desist to Nabilah. Nabilah
was demanded to apologise for disseminating incorrect information on
social media and in the media. In addition, she was asked to pay damages
of Rp 1 billion; this request was not answered by Nabilah either.
",
