        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has\nexplained the chronology of the detention of former Deputy Attorney\nGeneral for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah (FA) at the\nState Detention Centre at the KPK\u2019s Red-and-White Building branch.<\/p>\n<p>According to KPK Deputy for Coordination and Supervision Ely\nKusumastuti, the anti-corruption agency had earlier received a letter of\nassistance requesting the custody of the detainee from the Attorney\nGeneral\u2019s Office (Kejagung).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince this morning we have received the request for assistance in\nhousing the detainee,\u201d said Ely at the KPK complex in Jakarta on Friday\nevening, 24 July 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, she admitted she could not recall exactly when the KPK\nreceived the letter from Kejagung.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI forgot to note the date, but it has been received. So we were able\nto prepare,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She further explained that the letter was formally submitted by\nKejagung and forwarded by KPK officials to the leadership of the\nanti-corruption agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also submitted it to the leadership. It is all in accordance\nwith standard operating procedures,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that Febrie\nAdriansyah\u2019s detention was placed at the facility for the first 20\ndays.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect FA will be detained for the next 20 days at the\nRed-and-White Building branch detention centre of the KPK,\u201d said\nBudi.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that Febrie Adriansyah would be held in an ordinary cell\nand would not be placed in a special cell.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn ordinary cell. Everything is the same here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Febrie Adriansyah answered a summons from Kejagung\u2019s Team 9,\narriving at the Attorney General\u2019s Office building at around 1pm Western\nIndonesia Time.<\/p>\n<p>Febrie responded to the summons on Friday, 24 July, as a witness in\nan alleged money laundering (TPPU) case. After being questioned, Febrie\nsaid he felt he was being criminalised.<\/p>\n<p>At around 11.22pm Western Indonesia Time, Febrie Adriansyah arrived\nat the Red-and-White Building branch detention centre of the KPK without\nwearing a detention vest.
