A 28-year-old mother identified as D from Semarang, Central Java, is\nseeking justice for her two young daughters, who are alleged to have\nbeen victims of rape by their biological father. D reported the case to\nthe Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng) in October 2024, but she\nfeels the handling of the case has not progressed.<\/p>\n
D explained that in 2024, she took her daughter, who was 9 years old\nat the time, to a community health centre to have a complaint about her\ngenital area examined. \u201cThe doctor said, \u2018Ma\u2019am, how is it that a\nminor\u2019s hymen has already been torn quite significantly?\u2019\u201d D said in an\ninterview on Saturday (22\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
At the time, D admitted she did not understand the meaning of the\nquestion. The doctor then explained that there was a possibility that\npenetration by a male penis into her daughter\u2019s vital organ had already\noccurred. D was very shocked upon hearing this explanation. The doctor\nthen advised D to have a post-mortem examination performed on her\ndaughter.<\/p>\n
During the examination, the doctor spoke with D\u2019s daughter without D\nbeing present. According to D, her daughter confessed to the doctor that\nshe had experienced sexual violence perpetrated by her own father. The\ndoctor then relayed the daughter\u2019s statement to D.<\/p>\n
At that moment, D was unable to contain her sadness and cried in\nfront of the doctor. She then confronted her husband about their\ndaughter\u2019s statement. However, her husband denied it. He then chose to\nreturn to his parents\u2019 home. D and her husband are now divorced.<\/p>\n
On the advice of a neighbour, D decided to consult and seek\nassistance from LBH Mawar Saron. After hearing D\u2019s story, LBH Mawar\nSaron contacted the Integrated Service Unit for the Protection of Women\nand Children (UPTD PPA). After explaining the incident to UPTD PPA, D\nfinally filed a report with the Central Java Regional Police in October\n2024.<\/p>\n
During this series of processes, D also had a post-mortem examination\nperformed on her youngest daughter, who was 3 years old at the time. The\nresults also found tearing. \u201cThe doctor said it was the size of the head\nof a penis but had not yet entered,\u201d D said.<\/p>\n
She revealed that in 2025, a team from the Central Java Police\u2019s\nAutomatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) visited her\nresidence to conduct a crime scene investigation. They also interviewed\nboth of D\u2019s daughters. However, D feels that to this day the handling of\nher case has not made significant progress.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy hope for the police is that I am seeking justice for my children.\nI am a mother, a single mother, seeking justice so that the perpetrator\nis arrested,\u201d D said.<\/p>\n
According to D, both of her daughters, especially the eldest, are\nstill traumatised. \u201cThe teacher at her school asked me why my child\noften daydreams. Perhaps it is because she is thinking about that,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
When confirmed, the Director of the Directorate for the Protection of\nWomen and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (Dirres\nPPA-PPO) of the Central Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Nunuk\nSetiyowati, stated that her office is still actively handling the\nalleged rape case reported by D. The case is registered under number\nLP\/B\/232\/X\/2025\/SPKT Jateng dated 29 October 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is currently at the investigation stage and the forensic\nlaboratory examination is still in progress,\u201d Nunuk said in a short\nmessage to Republika.<\/p>\n
However, Nunuk was not yet willing to provide a detailed explanation\nabout the case. \u201cDetails will be provided on Monday by the Head of the\nChild Sub-Directorate.
