        "content": "<p>A Chinese national (WNA) with initials LL (56) has been questioned by\nthe Regional Office of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration\nin South Sumatra (Sumsel). LL is suspected of misusing his residence\npermit in the city of Prabumulih.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have received reports from the public regarding the activities of\na foreign national at a product distribution warehouse in Prabumulih.\nBased on initial findings in the field, we discovered discrepancies\nbetween the residence permit held and the actual activities carried out\nby the subject at the location,\u201d explained the Head of the South Sumatra\nDitjen Immigration Regional Office, Johannes Fanny.<\/p>\n<p>Johannes explained that, according to immigration data, LL holds a\nlimited stay permit (ITAS) sponsored by PT MDF. LL is registered as the\ngeneral manager of that company.<\/p>\n<p>However, Johannes continued, the results of the officers\u2019 inspection\nshow that LL has been working and supervising operational activities at\nCV TJA, a partner company that is not the sponsor, over the past four\nmonths.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur findings indicate that LL is working for another company that is\nnot his sponsor in Indonesia. Currently, we are delving deeper into the\nalleged violations committed by LL,\u201d Johannes added.<\/p>\n<p>Johannes explained that his office immediately coordinated with the\nProvincial Manpower and Transmigration Office of South Sumatra. The\ncoordination was carried out to confirm LL\u2019s employment status.<\/p>\n<p>In immigration supervision records, LL has a history of violations.\nThe violation in question is deportation by the Palembang Immigration\nOffice in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Directorate General of Immigration is committed to continuously\nenhancing supervision of foreign nationals\u2019 activities in Indonesia and\ntaking firm action against every legal violation,\u201d emphasised the\nDirector General of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and\nCorrections, Hendarsam Marantoko.<\/p>\n<p>He then emphasised the slogan \u2018Immigration for the People\u2019.
