Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Chinese military has suddenly laid out
‘five strategic lessons’ from the United States–Israel’s war on Iran.
This was visible on the social media platform X, via the account @ChinaMilBugle, the
Chinese military’s official account.

Under President Xi Jinping, Chinese forces outlined points to be
drawn from the attacks. Second, the costliest
miscalculation is blind faith in peace,” it stated in English and
Mandarin.

“Third, the superiority of weaponry often determines the outcome.
Fourth, the cruel paradox is the illusion of victory. Fifth, the last
line of defence is self-reliance.”

Earlier, the US-Israel campaign against Iran began on 28 February.
The Saturday strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali
Khamenei.

US President Donald Trump urged Iranians to topple the regime. Iran
itself retaliated by launching missiles at Israel and striking US
military bases in Middle Eastern countries such as Qatar, Kuwait,
Bahrain, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

China has issued statements condemning the US-Israel attack as
‘unacceptable’. Foreign Minister Wang Yi also conveyed his
concerns to Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar during a telephone
call, saying that negotiations between Iran and the US had achieved
“significant progress” in the nuclear talks, but have now failed.

Meanwhile, China urged all parties to keep the strategically
important Strait of Hormuz open. The waters are vital for around 20% of
global oil and 25% of the world’s gas.

It is known that several oil tankers in the area have been attacked,
and maritime traffic has fallen by around 70%. China itself purchases
more than 80% of Iran’s total oil production, according to various
estimates.
",
