        "content": "<p>Beijing (ANTARA) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi revealed several\noutcomes of the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US\nPresident Donald Trump, ranging from the issue of Taiwan to the\nsituation in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this meeting, the issue of Taiwan was one of the main topics.\nChina\u2019s position is very clear. First, the Taiwan issue is an internal\nmatter for China,\u201d said Wang Yi in a statement on the Chinese Foreign\nMinistry\u2019s website, Friday (15\/5) evening.<\/p>\n<p>Xi and Trump held a bilateral meeting for more than two hours on\nThursday, followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven and a state\nbanquet.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Trump also received a private tour of Zhongnanhai, the\ncomplex that houses the offices and official residence of Xi Jinping and\nother senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party.<\/p>\n<p>Wang Yi said that achieving \u201ccomplete national reunification\u201d is a\nshared aspiration of the Chinese people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMainland China and Taiwan are both part of one China,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the \u201cOne China\u201d principle and the three joint\ncommuniques between China and the US must continue to be upheld by the\nUnited States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf handled well, relations between the two countries can maintain\noverall stability. However, if not handled well, the two countries may\nexperience friction and even conflict,\u201d said Wang Yi.<\/p>\n<p>He said that peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait can only be\nmaintained if there is no support for \u201cTaiwan independence\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this meeting, we felt that the United States understands China\u2019s\nposition, pays attention to China\u2019s concerns, and, like the\ninternational community, does not recognise or accept Taiwan\u2019s move\ntowards independence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding economic relations, Wang Yi said that China and the US\nshould build mutually beneficial relations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the face of differences and friction, equal consultation is the\nonly right choice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Wang Yi, the economic teams of the two countries have\nachieved results that are considered balanced and positive.<\/p>\n<p>Wang Yi said that both sides are still discussing the technical\ndetails before agreeing on the implementation of the results of the\nconsultation.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Middle East, he said that President Xi stressed that\nmilitary force cannot solve regional problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDialogue is the right way.
