        "content": "<p>The Indonesian National Police have arrested a most-wanted fugitive\nfrom China, Zheng Rongjing, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Zheng is wanted\nin connection with an international online scam case. He was detained\nupon landing at Soekarno-Hatta on Wednesday (24\/6\/2026) at 23.50 Western\nIndonesian Time. The arrest was carried out after the police received a\nrequest from NCB Beijing in March to apprehend Zheng should he enter\nIndonesia. \u201cThe individual is a fairly major player in online scamming\nactivities,\u201d said Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko, Secretary of NCB\nInterpol Indonesia at the Police International Relations Division,\nduring a press conference at the Criminal Investigation Agency building\non Friday (26\/6). According to Interpol records, Untung stated that\nZheng is a key figure in an online scamming network. Zheng is alleged to\nhave operated a scamming syndicate in one of the largest fraud compounds\nin Cambodia. \u201cThe subject is known to be one of the fugitives on\nInterpol Beijing\u2019s most wanted list, with activities involving running\nscam operations in one of the largest compounds in Cambodia,\u201d he said.\nWhen asked why Zheng entered Indonesia, Untung remarked, \u201cOf course, if\na major online scam player comes to Indonesia, there must already be\nsomeone ready to accommodate him here, the infrastructure must already\nbe in place.\u201d Zheng is currently undergoing further examination at the\nMetro Jaya Regional Police. The police will investigate Zheng\u2019s purpose\nfor coming to Indonesia. \u201cBefore we hand him over to NCB Interpol\nBeijing, we will of course conduct an in-depth investigation first and\ntake a statement from the individual regarding his intentions and\npurpose for coming to Indonesia,\u201d he stated.<\/p>",
