China technology exhibited<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Around 127 state-owned companies of China
\nyesterday opened a science and technology exhibition that will
\nlast until Monday, at the Jakarta Fairground in Kemayoran.<\/p>\n
The expo, called the China Science and Technology Exhibition
\n`94, was opened by the vice chairman for technology development
\nof the Agency for Technology Assessment and Application (BPPT),
\nHarijono Djojodihardjo.<\/p>\n
China, which resumed diplomatic relations with Indonesia in
\n1990 after a freeze of over 20 years, is introducing the latest
\nindustrial products and technologies in aerospace, post,
\ntelecommunications, power generation, petrochemical, oil, gas,
\nmedical, pharmaceutical and nuclear sectors.<\/p>\n
The expo, which is jointly organized by the China Science
\nand Technology Exchange Center, the China Industrial Economic
\nExhibition Exchange Center, Top Repute Company of Hong Kong and
\nIndonesia's PT Ariesta Pameratama, specifically carried the China
\nAerospace Corp. to display its famous products of space launch
\nvehicles, spacecraft, strategic and tactical missiles as well as
\nground application.<\/p>\n
According to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM),
\nChinas cumulative investments in Indonesia since 1967 reached
\nUS$153.2 million for 21 projects as of Oct. 15. (fhp)<\/p>",
