        "content": "<p>Beijing (ANTARA) \u2013 The Chinese government reaffirms its stance as a\npartner to European countries and not a competitor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have always believed that Europe is a pillar in the appropriate\nsense within the multipolar order. Europe is an important power that\nmaintains stability in the international order while also being a key\npartner in realising modernization in the Chinese way,\u201d said Foreign\nMinister Wang Yi in response to a press conference on \u201cChina\u2019s Diplomacy\nPolicy and Foreign Relations\u201d in Beijing, China on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>If China\u2013Europe relations are to be stable and good, Wang Yi said the\nkey is that Europe develop a proper understanding of China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe note that more and more circles in Europe realise that China is\nnot a competitor, but a global partner, especially younger generations\nwho view China more objectively and more positively,\u201d Wang Yi said.<\/p>\n<p>The essence of China\u2013Europe economic and trade relations, Wang Yi\nsaid, is mutual complementarity of strengths, and can fully achieve a\ndynamic balance in the development process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact of China\u2013Europe cooperation shows that interdependence is\nnot a risk, convergence of interests is not a threat, open cooperation\nwill not undermine economic security, while building walls and obstacles\nwill only isolate oneself,\u201d Wang Yi explained.<\/p>\n<p>China, Wang Yi said, is pleased to see European friends step out of\nthe \u201csmall roof\u201d of protectionism and come to the \u201ccentre of activity\u201d\nof the Chinese market to strengthen themselves and boost competitiveness\nhere.<\/p>\n<p>The closeness of China\u2013Europe ties is at least also demonstrated by\nthe many visits by senior European leaders to Beijing to meet President\nXi Jinping.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders include German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on 25-26\nFebruary 2026, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on 28-31 January\n2026, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo on 24-29 January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently there is Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin on 4-8\nJanuary 2026, French President Emmanuel Macron on 3-5 December 2025, and\nSpanish King Felipe VI on 10-13 November 2025.<\/p>",
