This development is part of Indonesia-China cooperation to strengthen\na new industrial base in Madura. Previously, the government has\nencouraged cooperation in developing the Wiraraja Madura Industrial\nEstate through the Two Countries Twin Parks (TCTP) scheme.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the Indonesian Industrial Estates Association (HKI) and\nPresident Director of Wiraraja Madura Industrial Estate, Akhmad Ma\u2019ruf\nMaulana, said the incoming investment does not come from just one\ncompany. A number of manufacturing sectors have been prepared to fill\nthe area.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it is not only China; it happens that China is the largest. For\nChina, I am bringing in one cluster, one industrial estate cluster,\u201d\nMa\u2019ruf told CNBC Indonesia on Tuesday (11\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
The estate is projected not merely to be a factory location, but also\npart of a production chain connected to export markets. A number of\nindustries being prepared have quite diverse manufacturing and\nprocessing characteristics.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo the factories include a plastics factory, yarn, mattresses,\nfurniture, then chocolate, food packaging, food, such as fish canning,\nfood, but all of it is for export,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Cooperation with Chinese investors is an important part of the\ndevelopment. The government previously stated that the industrial estate\nin Bangkalan is expected to become a new economic growth centre in East\nJava and complement the heavy industrial estates already developed in\nthe Gresik area.<\/p>\n
As a result, the industrial estate will absorb a large workforce.\nAlthough he could not yet state how many workers will be absorbed, he\nestimated it will reach thousands.<\/p>\n
Besides China, investment exploration is also being conducted with\nseveral other countries. This shows that the estate is not directed to\nbecome an industrial area dependent on only one source of capital.<\/p>\n
