        "content": "<p>India is increasingly surging as the world\u2019s electronics\nmanufacturing centre amid the trend of investment shifting from China.\nThe Indian government has just approved dozens of major investment\nproposals to strengthen its domestic industry.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology announced\non Monday (30\/3) the approval of 29 company proposals under the\nelectronic components manufacturing programme. The total investment\nvalue poured in reaches 71.04 billion rupees, equivalent to Rp12.8\ntrillion.<\/p>\n<p>This step is part of India\u2019s grand strategy to attract global and\ndomestic investors, while reducing dependence on imports and\nstrengthening the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>The government is also aggressively expanding domestic production\ncapacity to enhance the competitiveness of the electronics industry.\nCurrently, India\u2019s electronics manufacturing sector has recorded a\nproduction value of up to US$125 billion for the period ending March\n2025. The Indian government targets that figure to soar to US$500\nbillion in fiscal year 2031.<\/p>\n<p>The approved proposals cover various strategic sectors, from mobile\nphone manufacturing, telecommunications, consumer electronics,\nautomotive, to hardware devices.<\/p>\n<p>One that received the green light is a unit of Dixon Technologies\nwhich will produce display modules.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Lohum Cleantech was approved to produce permanent magnets\nmade from rare earth materials, which is said to be the first project in\nIndia for this type of production.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting Reuters, the Indian government is also reportedly preparing\nnew incentives to encourage local mobile phone production, following the\nprevious programme that will end in March.<\/p>\n<p>This policy is estimated to further attract global technology giants\nlike Apple and Samsung to expand their investments in India.<\/p>",
