Children's paintings on display<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A total of 165 paintings are on display at
\nBentara Budaya, Jl. Palmerah Selatan, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The exhibition, organized jointly by PT Grasindo, a subsidiary
\nof PT Gramedia publishing company, with Yogyakarta-based Melati
\nSuci atelier, opened yesterday and will continue through April
\n14.<\/p>\n
The exhibition features the works of children from the Melati
\nSuci atelier.<\/p>\n
Among them are award-winner paintings of Intan Sari Dewi, 7,
\nentitled Enikki, Japanese for illustrated diary, which won the
\nGrand Prix award of the Asian Children's Art III Festival in
\nJapan in 1993. Intan is also Indonesia's youngest stamp designer
\nafter her painting I feed a chicken was used by the state-owned
\npostal company in 1991. She is also showing her other paintings.<\/p>\n
Another star painter is Ronny Lesmana, who won a prize from
\nthe Geneva-based International Telecommunication Union in 1991 in
\na art competition with the painting entitled Teenagers in the age
\nof electronics.<\/p>\n
Melati Suci atelier was established in 1979 by A. Hari
