        "content": "<p>Child dies in prison<\/p>\n<p>MEDAN, North Sumatra: An independent factfinding team suspects<br>\ntorture as the cause of last month's death of a 16-year-old<br>\nprisoner in Tanjung Gusta juvenile prison.<\/p>\n<p>The team, formed by the Indonesian Children Institute and<br>\nUrban Social Workers Group announced Thursday that Paris<br>\nPangaribuan may have been tortured in police custody.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman for the team Ahmad Sofyan was quoted by Antara as<br>\nsaying that Pangaribuan was already ill when he was sent to the<br>\nprison in April and died in Pirngadi Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Pangaribuan was sentenced by Medan District Court to seven<br>\nmonths in jail for stealing a guitar.<\/p>\n<p>\"Soon after he came to his cell, he became paralyzed,\" Ahmad<br>\nsaid, quoting Pangaribuan's cell mate, Aho. \"It is very likely<br>\nthat he was mistreated in Patumbak police station.
